Business Cover

Business cover your business against fire, explosion, floods, storm, wind, lightning, hail, limited theft, malicious damage, coverage for damage to property caused by special risks such as politically motivated acts, riots, strikes, terrorism and public disorders, limited business all risk and personal accident.

You will have to open a Hello Paisa Bank Account by downloading the Hello Paisa app or calling our call centre on 012 880 1800.

· War or war-like acts
· Public disorder, civil commotion or labour disturbances
· Military uprisings, usurped power, rebellion or revolution
· Any act of terrorism
· Confiscated property
· Pollution, contamination, radioactive material, nuclear material or nuclear waste
· Damage or loss is due to construction, alteration or repairs, defective workmanship, defective materials or lack of maintenance
· Wear-and-tear and breakdown
· Any cause which is not sudden and unforeseen
· Gradual deterioration, including rising damp, wear-and-tear, rust, mildew or fading
· Rot, rising damp, a rise in the water table except as a result of a storm
· Fungus, mould, infestation, insects, rodents or vermin
· Mechanical, electrical or electronic breakdown, defect or failure
· Damage to consumable parts or parts with a limited lifespan
· Damage recoverable under any maintenance or lease agreement
· Servicing, maintenance, cleaning, repairing, restoring, dyeing, bleaching or alteration
· Breach of contract
· Fraudulent transactions resulting from selling your
· Pawned items
· Consequential loss, unless directly caused by an insured peril
· Illegal activities, including any incident relating to obtaining, using or soliciting narcotics
· There is no cover if the loss occurs outside the period of insurance as stated in your Policy Schedule
· Theft and malicious damage caused by you, any members, partners, directors or employees

 

· Malicious Damage caused by you, someone associated with your business or one of your family members
· Accidental Damage
· Theft if there is no physical, forced or visible entry into and/or exit from such building
· Geyser bursts or leakages, as well as the damage caused by this
· Damage caused by gradual deterioration, wear and tear, vermin or other rodents
· Damage while performing maintenance whether by you or a contractor
· Money or other negotiable instruments
· Livestock
· Electronic Equipment and Machinery
· Theft of or Damage to any Stock or Contents left outside of a building
· Theft of or Damage to any Stock or Contents while being transported
· Theft of or Damage to any Stock or Contents that are not consistent with your Stated Business Activity
· Matching materials – Any additional costs resulting from the unavailability of matching or paired up Contents
· Buildings unoccupied for more than 60 consecutive days
Business All Risks Exclusions
· Theft from a vehicle unless the items are concealed and locked away in the enclosed storage areas such as the cubby hole and boot, or within a securely locked canopy.
· Theft of items left in a vehicle overnight, unless the vehicle is housed in a securely locked building and there are visible signs that the building or vehicle was broken into
· Damage to any insured item caused by animals, insects or pests
· Deliberate Theft and Malicious Damage done to the specified Item whether it is done by you the insured, or any other person associated with your business, including family members.
· Loss or damage arising from normal usage, consumption, gradual deterioration, wear and tear and rusting
· Loss of or damage to property that is being cleaned, repaired, restored or altered in some other way
Personal Accident Exclusions
· There is no cover for people under the age of 14, or over the age of 70
· There is no cover for medical expenses that arise as a result of an accident
· Death or disability caused by:
o War and war like conditions
o Suicide, attempted suicide or any self-inflicted injury – Insanity
o Any disease passing from one person to another
o Any existing physical defect or infirmity
o Pregnancy or childbirth
o Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs
o Provoking assault, breaking the law or disturbing the peace
o Participation in riots and civil commotion
o Participation in any defence, correctional or security services
o Mining or using explosives
o An accident which occurs while you are travelling in, getting on or off any aircraft unless it is licensed to carry passengers, owned by a registered Transport Company and you are a fare-paying passenger
· An accident which occurs while you are taking part in off-road motorcycling, any kind of speed contest other than on foot, aeronautics, hang-gliding, skydiving, parachuting, mountaineering where the aid of guide ropes is required, rock climbing, game hunting, hurdling, steeple chasing, polo, professional sports, snow or ice sports, racing on horseback, power-driven vehicles, watercraft or aircraft, martial arts, bungee jumping, scuba or deep-sea diving

We will attempt to collect the missed premium 15 days later and should this not be successful, your policy will be cancelled.

If I claim will my policy cover amount remain the same and do, I still pay the same?

A pro-rata premium means the amount of premium due for a policy that only covers a partial term.

Family Cover & Accidental Death Cover

It is an insurance policy that will pay out for death caused by accident (sudden, unforeseen, and uncertain event – i.e., road accidents, drowning, fire, electrocution, hijacking, and murder)
Accidental death cover does NOT cover natural death (heart attack, cancer, diabetes, or any diseases which result in death) or intentional death (suicide) or death caused by unlawful/criminal activity.

1. You will need to be a Hello Paisa Bank customer – with valid SA Identity document or foreign passport with permit or asylum document.
2. You reside with in South Africa
3. Older than 18 years and younger than 60 years

1. R5000 cover pay R5 a month
2. R15 000 cover pay R12,50 a month
3. R25 000 cover pay R20 a month
4. R50 000 cover pay R40 a month
5. R75 000 cover pay R60 a month

You are allowed to choose multiple covers; however, the total cover may not exceed R75 000 (this is the maximum amount allowed)
Example
Customer activates the following covers:
Cover R5000 + Cover for 25000 + Cover R 25000 = total cover R55 000

The policy is valid for a period of 31 days and will be auto-renewed monthly, unless the auto-renewal button is de-selected on the customer App, you will therefore have to manually activate the policy each month.

Only 1 beneficiary can be selected per cover. If you select more than one cover, different beneficiary can be selected for each cover.
Example
Customer has two active covers:
Cover 1 for R50 000 – beneficiary selected is spouse (wife)
Cover 2 for R 25 000 – beneficiary selected is brother

No, the customer has the option to add a beneficiary that resides in South Africa or In another country (e.g. Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique etc.)

Payment will be automatically deducted from you bank account once you have activated the policy on your Hello Paisa Banking App. The monthly premium will be deducted on the same day of each month
Example: cover activated on the 15 June 2022 the 2nd payment will be deducted on the 15 July 2022

How do I cancel cover?
You can cancel the cover at any time, by de-selecting the auto-renewal button that appears at the bottom the app screen for your active policy

No, you will not be refunded once the policy has been cancelled. It is a 31-day policy, you pay monthly for cover.

Should there be insufficient funds in your bank account, the auto-renewal for the insurance cover will be cancelled. You will therefore not be covered if an accidental event occurs after the cover/policy has been cancelled.

It is the Customer’s responsibility to inform their beneficiary of the policy and the provide the policy details to the beneficiary. The beneficiary must be given the information on how to claim in the event the Insured (Customer) passes away from an accident.

Your beneficiary must notify Hello Protect as soon as possible but no later than 3 (three) months from the claim event date (date of when the Insured Customer has passed away due to an accident)
The beneficiary has up to 6 (six) months to provide all the required claim documentation to Hello Protect from the claim event date.

Should the beneficiary reside in South Africa the claim amount will be transferred to their South African Bank account.
Should the beneficiary reside outside of South Africa the claim amount will be transferred to them as a remittance transaction facilitated through Hello Paisa

Provided all the required documentation is provided and assessed to be in order, the claim will be processed within 72 hrs

The terms and conditions of the cover is available on the App “view policy” and can be emailed to you by selecting the “share policy” button available on the policy details screen.
